NURS 110 Pathway to Nursing Success
This is an introductory course for freshman nursing majors that builds early readiness for progression into the professional nursing curriculum. Emphasis is placed on understanding academic expectations unique to nursing, including discipline-specific study strategies, clinical reasoning foundations, and approaches to nursing-style test items. Students will examine how early Science, Math, and English coursework supports nursing decision-making and patient care. The course also provides structured opportunities to engage with nursing faculty and practicing nurses from a variety of clinical settings to foster professional identity formation. Content includes an overview of local healthcare systems and effective use of key campus resources relevant to nursing students. Two credit hours (2,0).
