SOSC 490 Internship in Social Sciences

This course is an advanced workshop for future professionals in the major fields of criminology, international studies, political science, and/or sociology. The main objectives of this course are practical work experience and the application of selected concepts in the student's discipline. This course serves as a professionalization experience for students in their specific disciplines. The course may be repeated for additional credit hours. Anything beyond three credit hours requires the approval of the Chair, Department of Government, Criminology, and Sociology and cannot exceed nine credit hours total. Students are advised to consult rules in their major, but typically 6 credit hours in internships may be counted toward major requirements. Prerequisites: Lander GPA of 2.0 or higher as well as Junior or Senior status or approval of instructor. Pass/fail. Three to nine credit hours.
