SPCH 201 Experiencing Speech
This is a skills-based approach to speech training. It will help students develop demonstrated awareness and competence of how to effectively use the human voice for a variety of speech communication situations. This course will teach students to apply vocal and physical techniques so that they may explore the development of the human voice by learning about the vocal tract anatomy, how sound and language are produced, and how to identify accents and regionalisms, such as what is commonly known as General American English, through phonetic transcription. Instructor permission. Three credit hours.
