EDUC 697 Teaching Mathematics to Young Children
This course emphasizes constructivist approaches to teaching mathematical concepts to young children. Candidates engage with research-based instructional strategies, developmentally appropriate practices, and effective use of manipulatives and representations. The course incorporates the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) standards and explores how young children build mathematical understanding through meaningful problem solving and exploration Three credit hours.
