SPCH 303 Experiencing Accents

This course uses a skills-based approach to learning accents, this course will help demonstrate awareness and competence of how to effectively apply speech techniques to perform an accent. Through awareness of the vocal tract, production of sound, phonetics, and prosody of a voice donor, this course will help students be able to recreate the experience of that accent when performing text. Elective course for majors. Prerequisites: SPCH 101, SPCH 201. Restricted to Communication majors, MEDA majors/minors, Speech and Performance minors, or instructor permission. This is a Lecture/studio course. Three credit hours.
