BA 375 Data Analytics for Business
This foundational course introduces students to the principles and applications of data analytics in business decision-making. Designed for undergraduates seeking to expand their analytical skills, the course emphasizes how data can be used to support managers, investors, creditors, and other stakeholders in making informed decisions. Students learn to organize, manage, and analyze data using computer-based tools and software for knowledge discovery and business insight. Key topics include foundational statistics, database querying, data visualization, automation, and predictive modeling. The course develops critical thinking and modeling skills necessary to conduct analyses, interpret results, and communicate findings effectively. Using financial and accounting data as context, students gain both conceptual understanding and practical experience in data analysis, data management, and data modeling.
