FINA 312 Insurance & Risk Mgmt
This course surveys the insurance industry, with a focus on the management of operational risks facing organizations. Topics include measurement of risk, behavioral bias in decision making under uncertainty, diversification of risk, the role of capital in ensuring performance, and moral hazard. These topics are then applied to public policy issues such as health care, catastrophic risk, and safety regulation. Prerequisites: "C" or better in ACCT 201 and ECON 101. Three credit hours.
