MUSI 213 Second-Year Theory Application
Designed to be taken in conjunction with
MUSI 211, this course trains students to use symbolic representations to describe musical sounds, to sing music accurately from music notation, and to detect errors in a performance of music. This third semester of ear training focuses on performing syncopated rhythms and hearing diatonic chord progressions and melodies with modal mixture and chromatic embellishments. Prerequisites: “C” or better in
MUSI 112 and 114. One credit hour.
